Mask off Maersk
Expose the invisible profiteer of the genocide against Palestinians
Expose logistics giant Maersk
Maersk, one of the largest logistics companies in the world, is complicit in de israeli genocide of Palestinians. Maersk transports weapons and weapon parts – including F-35 components – to and from israel, while pocketing billions in profit.
Logistics gigants like Maersk are the invisible profiteers of the arms industry
The genocide in Palestine depends on a steady flow of (military) goods to and from Israel, made possible by Maersk. This must stop. Geef Tegengas is targeting Maersk to immediately shut down the arms trade with israel.
Maersk and the port of Rotterdam
Maersk has repeatedly shipped weapons and weapon parts - including F-35 components - through the Port of Rotterdam to Israel, and has shown no intention of stopping. As long as Rotterdam allows these shipments to dock, both the city and the Netherlands as a whole remain complicit in genocide.
Research by the Palestinian Youth Movement makes clear that Maersk plays a central role in the production and maintenance of Israel's F-35 fighter jets. The Port of Rotterdam is a key link in this deadly chain.
The City of Rotterdam—ironically the largest shareholder in the Port—bears direct responsibility for what enters and leaves. Under Article 1 of the Genocide Convention, Rotterdam is legally obligated to do everything in its power to prevent genocide. That means blocking weapons destined for genocidal regimes. This is why our actions target both Maersk and the City of Rotterdam.
We demand Maersk immediately stop transporting weapons and weapon parts to and from israel.
We demand the City of Rotterdam bars ships carrying israeli weapon parts from entering the port.
Victory won! We demanded a full investigation into the role of the Port of Rotterdam in genocide and other human rights abuses. After sustained actions, the City of Rotterdam has passed a motion to launch this investigation - a necessary first step on the road to accountability.
Our demands
The campaign against Maersk in the Netherlands is part of the international #MaskOffMaersk movement. Researchers from the Palestinian Youth Movement and Progressive International have documented Maersk’s deep complicity in genocide through a series of detailed reports. On this basis, actions are being taken worldwide - from ships blocked from ports in Spain and France to the occupation of Maersk headquarters in Denmark.
International campaign
Collective struggle against Maersk
Collective action works. Geef Tegengas is far from alone in this fight. Demonstrations, research, and direct action across countries have built a powerful movement. Recent actions in the Netherlands were organized by: Laat Gaza Leven, Rotterdam Palestine Coalition, Palestinian Community in the Netherlands, XR: Justice Now!, XR Rotterdam, XR Rebels of Colour, Rhythms of Resistance NL, Rotterdam Student Encampment, Pal Action NL, and Geef Tegengas.
