Empire of logistics

Our actions target the beating heart of the logistics empire: the Port of Rotterdam.
A complete trade and arms embargo with Israel.
An immediate halt to all imports and exports of products and goods linked to human rights violations.
A concrete plan to ban all other polluting trade from the port as soon as possible.
We will continue taking action until our demands are met.
OUR DEMANDS
We have already blocked the port railway seven times. This railway transports all kinds of destructive cargo in and out of Rotterdam. Our blockades bring this freight traffic to a complete standstill, directly disrupting the destruction enabled by the logistics sector
Because the logistics sector - through globalization, hyper-consumption, and arms trade - is complicit in the climate crisis, modern slavery, child labor, environmental destruction, genocide, and colonial exploitation. The rise of the shipping container, ongoing scale expansion, and obsession with ‘efficiency’ have made logistics a motor of global inequality. Meanwhile, the sector earns enormous profits from transporting polluting goods, while rarely being held accountable.
The scale is staggering. In 2023, nearly 13 million tons of things were transported globally which is over 5 times the mount we shipped in 1970. This means a unrestrained growth in fossil fuels, weapons, fast fashion, cheap electronics, and more
Why?
Under the banner of progress, the logistics sector leaves behind a trail of destruction for both people and nature.
The port railway is a crucial link. The Port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest logistics hub. Ten percent of all containers entering and leaving Rotterdam travel this line. During our actions, that number is zero. By shutting down the port railway, we strike the logistical system where it hurts most: their bottom line.
the port railway
Our blockades are not mere symbolic protests; they directly disrupt the infrastructure of exploitation and oppression.
It is time to escalate our actions: on October 10 and 11 of 2025 we shut down the Port of Rotterdam. During the Rotterdam Block Party, we blocked the port railway with hundreds of people and stopped truck traffic.
For years, activist groups have urged the port to change. It has had every opportunity to end its complicity in global death and destruction. Yet time and again, it has chosen to continue its destructive course. As people die daily from climate chaos and genocide, our patience has run out. If the port will not stop itself, then we will: on October 10th and 11th, no profit was made from colonial exploitation and murder!
